Accessing Your Energy Transition Show Member Feed with Corporate or Institutional Restrictions
If you’re having trouble accessing your member feed URL or using our subscription wizard due to corporate or institutional security settings, you’re not alone. Some organizations have IT policies that can interfere with our podcast members-only feed subscription process. We apologize for this frustration—we wish there was a simpler way, but these are standard limitations when dealing with various IT security policies.
Common Issues You Might Experience
The subscription wizard freezes when trying to generate your member URL
Copy and paste functions are blocked or restricted
Pop-ups or external links are blocked by your organization’s firewall
The “1-click subscribe” buttons don’t work on your work device
Workarounds to Try
1. Listen on the Web (Always Available)
Good news: You always have access to all episodes directly on our website! While we work on getting your feed wizard working, you can listen to any episode by:
Logging into your account at energytransitionshow.com
Browse and play episodes directly from your browser
This works on any device and bypasses all institutional restrictions
2. Use the “1-Click” Subscribe Button
On our Member Podcast App Subscription Wizard, after logging in, look for the green “Mobile (iOS)” or relevant platform button. This should open your podcast app directly without needing to copy and paste.
Note: If your company restrictions block pop-ups, this may not work, but it’s worth trying first.
3. Use a Personal Device
If you have a personal device (phone, tablet, or computer) that isn’t managed by your company:
1. Log into your Energy Transition Show account from your personal device
2. Generate and copy your member feed URL
3. Subscribe using your preferred podcast app on that device
4. Try Apple Podcasts Desktop (Mac Users)
If you have access to a Mac computer (either personal or work), you can:
Subscribe to the member feed in the Apple Podcasts app on your computer
The show should automatically sync to your iPhone via iCloud
This bypasses mobile device restrictions while still getting episodes on your phone
5. Use Alternative Podcast Apps
Some alternative podcast apps might not be subject to your organization’s data transfer restrictions:
Pocket Casts - Supports private RSS feeds and available for iOS/Android
Overcast - Popular iOS podcast app with RSS support
Mimr - Another option that supports private feeds
These apps often allow you to paste your member feed URL even when the default podcast app is restricted.
6. Contact Our Support Team for Manual Feed Generation
If the subscription wizard continues to freeze or fail, our support team can manually generate your member feed URL for you. Important: This process requires us to reset your password for security purposes, so please let us know if that’s okay when you contact us.
Email support@xenetwork.org with:
Your request for manual feed generation
Confirmation that you’re okay with a password reset
Your preferred podcast app (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.)
7. Try a Different Browser or Incognito Mode
Sometimes corporate restrictions vary by browser or can be bypassed temporarily:
Try Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge if you normally use a different browser
Use incognito/private browsing mode
Clear your browser cache and cookies for our site
8. Access During Off-Hours or Off-Network
If possible, try accessing our subscription wizard:
During lunch breaks using cellular data instead of company WiFi
From home using your personal internet connection
Using a mobile hotspot if available
9. Contact Your IT Department
As a last resort, you can reach out to your corporate IT or security team and ask them to issue an exception for our URLs:
Explain that you need access to generate and copy a private RSS feed URL for a professional podcast subscription. Many IT departments can provide temporary or permanent exceptions for legitimate business resources, though this process can take time.
Still Having Issues?
If none of these workarounds solve your problem, please contact our support team at support@xenetwork.org with:
A description of exactly where you’re getting stuck
Screenshots of any error messages (if possible)
Your operating system and browser information
Whether you’re on a work device or personal device
We can sometimes manually send your member feed URL via email or help troubleshoot specific technical issues.
